I was born on Guam and was raised in the village of Asan. I relocated to Texas in July 2024 during the Guam Liberation celebrations. It was my first of many to see how it is celebrated here in the mainland. It was a heartwarming and touching experience. I was moved by the performances and wanted to be a part of the mission to preserve and teach our CHamoru heritage. One way I feel I can do it is to become a board member for Ininan Mariånas. My intention as a member is to support and advocate for the talented members as they educate and promote our CHamoru culture through history, language, song and dance.
